In just one day, everything changed for Tika.

This fragile puppy, reduced to skin and bones, was barely surviving. Starved and attacked by another animal, her small frame was covered in injuries, with her face suffering the worst damage.

Lying motionless, Tika had surrendered to her fate, believing there was no escape from her suffering. That is, until a Border Patrol agent happened upon her.

A Life Saved In The Final Moments

The agent’s first look at Tika was devastating. The left side of her face had been torn open , leaving her with a severe infection and unbearable pain.

“Sweet, TIKA was rescued by a Border Patrol agent in her last minutes on earth…she was agonizing,” shared The Buddy Foundation , located in Eagle Pass, Texas, in a Facebook post.
