KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - A veteran law enforcement officer is running for Buffalo County Sheriff.
In a statement released Friday, Chief Deputy Dan Schleusener said he intends to file as a Republican candidate for Buffalo County Sheriff in the May 2026 Primary Election. In the press release, Schleusener said current Sheriff Neil Miller plans to retire at the end of his current term.
Schleusener is a 24-year veteran of public safety, including the past 18 years serving the citizens of Buffalo County. “I am honored to have worked alongside Sheriff Miller as his Chief Deputy,” Schleusener said. “I am even more honored to have earned his trust and endorsement to continue leading the Sheriff’s Office into the future.”
