Week 9 of the high school football season in Georgia is here, and there are some big games on the schedule for Savannah-area programs as teams jostle for postseason position with the state playoffs looming.

Richmond Hill is off to a 6-1 start overall with a 2-0 mark in the rugged Region 1-6A and the team is on the road for another big test as it travels to Valdosta (6-1, 1-1) in another region matchup.

Jenkins (5-1, 5-0) sits atop Region 3-3A as the only unbeaten team in region play. The Warriors are set to host SE Bulloch (4-3, 4-2), which is currently fourth in the region standings.
