Trump Reportedly Called To Congratulate Venezuelan Nobel Peace Prize Winner

President Donald Trump reportedly contacted Venezuelan Nobel Peace Prize Winner María Corina Machado on Friday to congratulate her on her win, according to Bloomberg .

Bloomberg’s reporting cited anonymous sources “familiar with the matter, despite speculation that [Trump] would be indignant at not receiving the award himself.”

Trump openly campaigned for the prize, citing his work to bring peace to the Middle East and other hot-spot areas around the globe. He was nominated by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and a variety of U.S. lawmakers and other world leaders.
