REIDSVILLE, N.C. — The Reidsville community is mourning 10-year-old Alonzo Rodriguez , who died Wednesday, October 8, 2025, from complications related to an illness.

Alonzo was a student at Legacy Classical Academy and a proud player for the Rockingham Cougars Youth Football League, where he wore jersey #38. His teammates and coaches described him as a bright, energetic player who brought heart and joy to the game.

In a Facebook post, the league wrote that Alonzo “was such a bright light, full of energy, joy and love for the game,” adding that his smile and spirit will never be forgotten.
