San Diego Padres infielder Jose Iglesias received a one-game suspension and an undisclosed fine and teammate Xander Bogaerts also was fined for their conduct toward umpires after Game 3 of the National League wild-card series in Chicago, Major League Baseball announced Friday.

The incident occurred last week as the umpires walked off the field near the Padres’ dugout after San Diego lost 3-1 to end its season.

In the top of the ninth inning, the count was full on Bogaerts when Cubs right-hander Brad Keller threw a fastball that appeared to be well below the strike zone. However, home-plate umpire D.J. Reyburn called it a strike for the first out of the inning.

The usually composed Bogaerts vigorously contested the call to no avail and Padres manager Mike Shildt also came out of the dugo
