BUTTE — You could see the excitement light up Aurie Duncan’s face even from up in the grandstands of the Butte Civic Center during the first day of Butte Central’s Blocktober volleyball tournament.

The 6’3 senior from Hamilton covered her elated face after the Broncs secured their first point in their match against Whitefish on Friday morning. It was the look of a girl who’d just experienced her first point in a volleyball match, even though for Duncan it was far from it. In between referee timeouts, she chatted and laughed with Whitefish girls across the net, danced and exhumed the energy of a high school girl having the time of her life playing volleyball.
