The Summit County Land Bank, in partnership with the city of Akron, is seeking qualified architects to design "Made in Akron" pre-reviewed home plans.

"The project aims to simplify the housing development process, expand housing options, and raise the standard of quality for new homes built in Akron and throughout Summit County," the city said in a release.

The selected architect will design at least four housing types — including single-family, age-in-place, duplex, and small multi-family homes — and produce permit-ready construction documents. These plans will be pre-reviewed by the City of Akron and communities interested in participating and will be made available at little or no cost to residents and developers, with the goal of reducing barriers to building new housing.
