BIDDEFORD, Maine — Maine State Police arrested a Biddeford man Tuesday evening following a yearlong investigation into the death of an infant last June.
Detectives arrested 36-year-old Christopher Knapp on a warrant for a manslaughter charge, according to a news release from state police.
Police said the arrest stemmed from the death of a 5-week-old boy on June 20, 2024. An autopsy the next day at the Chief Medical Examiner's Office ruled the boy's death a homicide.
Police did not immediately release the cause of death.
A grand jury in York County indicted Knapp on charges of manslaughter Tuesday.
Knapp was taken to York County and was arraigned Thursday, entering a "not guilty" plea.
