GRAND FORKS — A man accused of stabbing another man at a Grand Forks homeless shelter because he said he felt pressured by former President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris will undergo a second mental evaluation.
Moses Ayom, 45, was in court Friday, Oct. 10, for a restoration hearing.
Police said Ayom nearly killed another man in an unprovoked attack on Nov. 1. The victim suffered two stab wounds considered life-threatening but survived.
One doctor has determined that Ayom is fit to proceed, but his lawyer asked a judge on Friday to approve a second evaluation, which the judge granted.
“I have already talked to a professional about doing the examination. We’re just waiting to get all the ducks lined up,” defense attorney Stormy Vickers said in court Friday.
