The Alabama School of Mathematics and Science (ASMS) has been ranked among the top 20 public high schools in the United States by Niche.

The Mobile-based residential school secured the No. 19 spot nationally, making it the highest-ranked public high school in Alabama.

In addition to its national recognition, ASMS earned the top spot in multiple statewide categories for the second year in a row. Niche named the school: • #1 Best Public High School in Alabama • #1 Best High School for STEM in Alabama • #1 Best College Prep Public High School in Alabama • #1 Best Magnet High School in Alabama
