LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — An inmate at the Reception and Treatment Center in Lincoln died at a local hospital Friday.

Tony Perez, 37, was serving six to 16 years for attempting to deliver cocaine and theft by receiving stolen property, both in Lancaster County.

Perez started his sentence in August 2023.

The cause of death has yet to be determined.

Whenever an inmate dies, a grand jury will conduct an investigation.
