(CNN)– The “full self-driving” feature in Tesla vehicles is under federal investigation.

It’s in the wake of reports the technology allegedly caused vehicles to run red lights and move into oncoming lanes.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said its investigation covers nearly 2.9 million vehicles with the feature.

The NHTSA said of a few dozen incidents, 14 were crashes or fires.

Ten incidents resulted in injuries to 23 people.

The agency said it found 6 cases in which the full self-driving mode ran a red light and collided with another vehicle.
