Newly appointed US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor arrived in India on October 9 for a six-day visit (October 9-14). He is accompanied by Deputy Secretary for Management and Resources Michael J Rigas.

During the visit, Gor and Rigas will meet Indian government counterparts to discuss a wide range of bilateral and strategic issues.

“The United States will continue to work with India to strengthen our strategic partnership and promote a safer, stronger and more prosperous Indo-Pacific region,” the US State Department said in a statement.

The US Embassy in New Delhi described Gor’s trip as a short visit, adding that the presentation of his credentials and his formal move to India will take place at a later date, which has not yet been determined.
