PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - 16 new, large murals have been unveiled, located in Peoria’s Warehouse District.

Big Picture Peoria unveiled the new artwork Friday, each created by local artists.

They’re on the outside of the Builder’s Warehouse, across from First Ascent, along Washington and Depot streets.

One of those artists, Isabella Gray, a junior at Illinois State University, said she hoped to get more opportunities like this in the future.

“I was involved with the arts a lot in high school but it’s very different jumping from high school to college in making art,” she said. “So this is a really big deal for me.”

City Manager Patrick Urich says millions have been invested in the Warehouse District to create a new parking lot and housing - initiatives he says help beautify the city.
