TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Several fallen officers will be honored at the 31st annual Tampa Police Memorial Run.

The event is on Saturday, Oct. 11, and organizers expect a very large turnout with thousands attending.

Tampa Police said to them, this is more than just a run; it is a way to honor their 32 fallen heroes.

Officer Ashley Bell lost her father when she was only 14 years old.

"For me, obviously, being a part of the memorial committee is near and dear to my heart," she said. "My dad was a law enforcement officer who was killed in the line of duty in 1998, I then started my career 16 years ago. I came to Tampa five years ago, and I now wear his badge number."

Her father, Detective Randy Bell, is one of the 32 names honored.
