Sweater weather is already here and winter will soon follow. For Erie, that means freezing temperatures and snow-capped landscapes. But winter is not a wonderland for children without adequate clothing.

A resident of Erie recalled last winter and the efforts that it took to keep warm, "I was actually here last winter and it was probably about five degrees and I probably had about three coats on, three socks on. It was very cold; we had a very bad winter," Angela Deickhoff, an Erie resident, said.

According to Non-Profit Quarterly, an estimated 2 out of 5 children do not have access to adequate clothing, which for many children means that they go without the proper winter wardrobe to keep warm. Coats for Kids is an annual donation drive run by Inter-Church Ministries to gather winter oute
