JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - Northern Colorado deputies are clarifying details of the shooting at Evergreen High School that left a suspect dead and two people injured in September.

“When there are gaps in information being shared, people tend to create their own narrative based on speculation,” the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said in an update on Friday. “We strongly discourage community members from spreading rumors and unconfirmed information, which causes unnecessary fear and panic.”

The sheriff’s office said they wanted to provide as many details as they are able to in order to avoid speculation and rumors, but they added that there are still some facts they aren’t able to share yet from that day.
