Flames fully engulfed a garage in the Highland Park area of Los Angeles Friday and firefighters focused on preventing spread to nearby structures.
The fire was reported at 2:25 p.m. Friday at 5922 E. Echo St., according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Lyndsey Lantz.
The garage in the rear of the property was close to the garage of the neighbor on the west side when firefighters arrived, Lantz said. They prioritized protecting surrounding structures and opened the garage on four sides to gain access to the fire.
“Residents stated everyone was accounted for and the involved structure was not used as a dwelling,” she said. No injuries were reported.
