AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Texas Department of Public Safety suspended a state trooper after he was arrested Thursday by the Williamson County Sheriff's Office.

Charles Todd Outlaw, 48, was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and booked into the Williamson County jail, DPS told KXAN.

KXAN is working to find attorney information for Outlaw. We will reach out for a response to the accusations once that information becomes available.

Outlaw, who is stationed in Austin, joined Texas DPS in 2014. The agency's Office of Inspector General (OIG) has launched a separate administrative investigation into the arrest, DPS said.

Dalton Huey contributed to this report.
