Canada’s Stuart Macdonald might be two good rounds away from earning an improbable PGA Tour card for next season.

The Vancouver golfer is in a five-way tie for the lead after two rounds of the season-ending Korn Ferry Tour Championship in French Lick, Ind.

The top 20 golfers in the season standings after Sunday’s final round earn PGA Tour cards. Macdonald, 30, entered the tournament in 50th, but would rise into the top 20 if he wins the tournament.

Macdonald never has had PGA Tour status. What’s more, he received late entry to the Korn Ferry Tour this year after Denmark’s Frederik Kjettrup signed up with LIV Golf prior to the season.
