A 15-year-old student suffered minor injuries after being struck by a motorist in the crosswalk at Ridgewood High School on Friday morning, police said.
Police say the motorist was blinded by the sun’s glare and struck the teen as he stood in the crosswalk at Heermance Place around 8 a.m.
The boy was conscious when Ridgewood EMS arrived on the scene. He was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center for treatment, police said.
Christine Corliss, a spokeswoman for the Ridgewood schools, said the vehicle was traveling very slowly when it struck the teen, who was in the crosswalk and near the curb on Heermance Place.
Corliss said the student suffered “cuts and abrasions” and an assistant principal got into the ambulance to accompany him to the hospital.
