The goal of the event was to help break the cycle of domestic violence. Polly Andrews from Southcentral Foundation shared that domestic violence affects four out of five Indigenous women, a fact they hope to change for the better. “We care about healing in our state, and all of us deserve to have a healthy and safe community,” said Polly. Tagaloa Faipauna was on both sides of domestic abuse. She shared that their journey wasn’t easy, but they were able to get the help they needed. “I’m able to see other people’s perspectives, and I’m able to feel that,” she said. “And because of that, I don’t want to put somebody else in that position ever again.” There was quite a good turnout, with folks displaying signs and wearing purple to show their support and raise awareness
