The 6-1 Hoover Vikings are looking to stay in the Federal League title hunt.

The 4-3 Perry Panthers can play the role of Federal League spoiler.

Each team is battling for a spot in the OHSAA state playoffs.

NORTH CANTON — Perry plays at Hoover on Friday, Oct. 10 in an intense Federal League football battle with plenty at stake for both teams.

Head coach Brian Baum has Hoover (6-1, 2-1) in the hunt for a share of the league title with games left against Perry, Green and GlenOak, but the Vikings need someone to beat McKinley after falling to the Bulldogs 21-20 last week.

Perry (4-3, 1-2) has a chance to climb from 15th place in Division II, Region 7, needing to get into the top 12 for a postseason berth. The region includes No. 7 Louisville, No. 8 Hoover and No. 9 Ma
