LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville first responders were called to an early morning fire in the Shawnee neighborhood Friday.

A Louisville Fire official said they were called to a house fire and possible shooting in the 3000 block of River Park Drive around 1:37 a.m.

Louisville Fire Capt. Donovan Sims said firefighters staged safely while Louisville Metro Police confirmed there was no shooting.

When crews arrived, Sims said they found a two-story home with a heavy fire in the back.

Firefighters searched the building and nearby structures and didn't find any occupants, Sims said. Twenty-five Louisville Fire firefighters brought the flames under control at 1:54 a.m.

Louisville Metro Arson is investigating the cause of the fire, Sims said.
