A Toronto woman charged last month with distraction theft allegedly targeting elderly victims faces additional charges tied to another incident in North York.
Toronto Police said officers responded on July 27 around 6 p.m. to a call for a theft in the Lawrence Ave. W.-Black Creek Dr. area.
Police alleged the suspect operated as part of a criminal organization that “worked together to commit a number of distraction thefts in Toronto.”
Cops said the suspect targeted the “elderly and vulnerable” and allegedly stole a quantity of valuable jewelry.
On Thursday, police identified and arrested Florentina Alexandru, 44, with theft over $5,000 and participate in criminal organization.
