CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — After a series of setbacks, the new Budlong Pool is taking shape as construction on the project moves forward.

Cranston Mayor Ken Hopkins took to social media on Thursday to highlight the pool's progress.

"Crews have been hard at work constructing a safe, modern facility," Hopkins said. "If you've driven by this week, you may have noticed the shape of the pool now taking form."

Hopkins also thanked Cranston residents for their patience and promised that the vast renovations will ensure the pool is open to community members for generations to come.

The new pool was originally supposed to be completed by May 2025, but that date was pushed back to early July.
