The families of the Cardinal Ritter High School football players pepper sprayed by the Massillon Police Department on Oct. 3 have secured legal representation.
Families of 17 Cardinal Ritter players have hired Ohio based-attorneys Sean Walton, Michael Wright and Robert Gresham. The decision to hire attorneys comes two days after one Cardinal Ritter parent posted a statement on Facebook disputing the version of events given by the Massillon police.
The players' lawyers released a statement on behalf of the Cardinal Ritter families on Friday, Oct. 10, calling the actions of police "simply unacceptable."
The Massillon Police Department said in an Oct. 7 statement that its officers "operated within our policies and procedures for the use-of-force action taken." Watch Ohio High School Fo
