CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — The suspect arrested in connection with a shooting that left three people hurt after a basketball tournament in Forest Park was denied bond on Friday.
Forest Park Police said officers were called to Paradise Community Development Corporation on Saturday, Sept. 27, on Hendrix Drive in reference to a shooting in the parking lot. Officers said the shooting was sparked by a foul that happened during the basketball tournament.
More than a week later, officers arrested 21-year-old Romontae Crews. He was charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon during a crime.
"Evidence confirms that Mr. Crews traveled from the City of Atlanta to Forest Park, where he engaged in violent behavior resulting in multiple individuals being shot," according to police.
