The raucous arrest of an alleged “kill team” en route to a planned hit has capped off a tumultuous week in Sydney marred by shootings.

The wild arrest was caught on video as heavily armed police descended upon a black Mercedes and Mitsubishi SUV on Tuesday afternoon in Revesby in Sydney’s southwest.

The Mercedes was riddled with bullet holes through the front windscreen, with police understood to have deployed less-than-lethal “bean bag” rounds.

Officers allege the men – Greall Tighe, 18, Kevin Mundine, 19, and Tyrone Tuiluga Rio, 26 – were on their way to carry out a planned murder metres from a daycare centre.

The trio had been hired due to an internal feud within a Vietnamese crime syndicate, police allege.
