ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The old Walmart building in the International District could be in store for a new future. After years of sitting vacant, Albuquerque City Councilor Nichole Rogers is once again pushing to fill the space.
The former Walmart is located on San Mateo Blvd. and Central Ave., but the retailer shuttered it two years ago. Councilor Rogers is now looking for the city to purchase that property. "So we are really grasping at all the straws to try to get the capital so that we can negotiate to purchase the vacant Walmart on Central and San Mateo," said Councilor Rogers.
