COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) -A Midlands-based organization is helping teachers improve student performance in English and test scores by giving them the tools—and the funding—to bring new strategies into their classrooms.
The Center of Excellence for Educator Preparation and Innovation, based in Batesburg-Leesville, runs the IMPACT program, which stands for Improvement Science Propels Achievement and Critical Teaching . The initiative is rooted in data-driven instruction and allows educators to tailor their teaching methods based on the specific needs of their students.
“It’s about using informed data based on the actual students in their room to adjust and tweak their instructional practices,” said Damara Hightower Mitchell, founder and CEO of the center.
