Algae Bloom Watch put in place for Nutgrass Lake

FALLON, Nev. (KOLO) - A Harmful Algae Bloom Watch Advisory has been issued for Nutgrass Lake near Fallon.

The Nevada Department of Wildlife says the blue green algae can produce toxins dangerous to pets and people.

Hunters are advised to avoid water taking the appearance of pea soup, paint, foam, scum, or any water with foul or musty odors.

Dogs should also avoid the water, as NDOW says dogs can become seriously ill or even die within hours of exposure.
