San Francisco quarterback Brock Purdy will miss his second straight game and fourth in the past five due to his turf toe injury when the 49ers visit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.

Purdy was initially injured during the season-opening game against the Seattle Seahawks and aggravated it during a Week 4 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. San Francisco coach Kyle Shanahan said earlier this week that the team isn’t considering placing Purdy on injured reserve.

Complicating matters is that backup quarterback Mac Jones is dealing with knee and oblique injuries and is listed as questionable. Jones aggravated the left knee ailment and injured the oblique during a victory over the Los Angeles Rams on Oct. 2.

Jones completed 33 of 49 passes for 342 yards and two touchdowns against the Rams. He
