Two schools in Lancaster County will merge next summer.

The Stone Independent School and Solvit Academy, both based in Lancaster, will merge beginning July 1.

The K–12 institution will operate under The Stone Independent School name.

For the immediate future, both campuses will remain operational. The lower school will include grades kindergarten through sixth grade and will be located at 354 N. Prince St. The middle and upper schools will include grades seventh through twelfth grades and will be located at 480 New Holland Ave.

In the future, the schools plan a “state-of-the-art” campus in Lancaster with expanded classrooms, athletic fields, and a theater.
