QUEENS, N.Y. -- Sinkay Thomas scored four touchdowns as McKee/Staten Island Tech, leading only 12-6 at the half, erupted for 32 unanswered points to close the game and wallop Benjamin Cardozo, 44-6, in a PSAL 3A Conference road win Friday evening.
“We had three fumbles in the first half and the kids were very down,” said MSIT head coach Chris App Jr., whose club improved to 4-2 overall and 3-1 in the conference. “I just said that (the second half) is going to determine the type of character we have. If we really have a next-play mentality -- if we really feel we are men that can handle adversity -- then we will go out and play our assignments and execute.”
