New Delhi: Joshua Kimmich scored a brace to help Germany beat 10-man Luxembourg 4-0 in the FIFA World Cup qualifier match to move to the top of Group A. After Northern Ireland stunned Slovakia with a 2-0 defeat, the Germans moved to the top on goal difference.

David Raum netted his first goal for Germany in the 12th minute of the game with a stunning free kick to beat keeper Anthony Moris at the near post. Luxembourg defender Dirk Carlson got a red card for a handball in the area, and Kimmich converted the resulting penalty in the 21st minute, but the hosts failed to score more goals before halftime, despite having a numerical advantage.
