ROYALTON, Minn. — A nationwide competition is happening right now to help smaller high schools reimagine their stadiums with a million-dollar upgrade.

Royalton is the only finalist from Minnesota. As of now, it is ranked eighth in the contest. Royalton would need to finish in the top spot to win.

The school's assistant varsity football coach, Brad Baumann, told KARE 11 they have made it so far in the competition in part thanks to the application he sent in. Baumann said the story focused on assistant Coach Nick Lanners , who spent hours taking care of the field. Lanners passed away this past spring.

Friday night, the school held a "T-Mobile Friday Night 5G Lights" football game sponsored by T-Mobile.
