POINT PLEASANT, W.Va . (WSAZ) - A modern upgrade is on the way for a historic hotel in Mason County.

When Joel Price, a Maryland native, heard that the hotel on Point Pleasant’s Main Street is getting an upgrade--he was ecstatic.

“To bring these old buildings back to life,” Price said. “Then using it for what it was intended for first as a hotel. Its great. Its outstanding.”

Main Street Point Pleasant Executive Director Christopher Rizer says a developer is planning to completely renovate the historic Lowe Hotel --after buying it less than a year ago.

He says the refresh will bring the hotel into the 21st century with new interior infrastructure while keeping the historic charm.
