TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - The Pima County Sheriff's Department has confirmed that Corrections Officer Jason Hubert is on administrative leave due to an ongoing investigation.

Hubert was previously placed on administrative leave back in 2019 due to an altercation that led to the death of an inmate. On February 15, 2019, David Ray Maxwell was reported as disruptive. Hubert allegedly went over to attempt to calm Maxwell down, and an altercation ensued. The scuffle resulted in the death of Maxwell.

Details regarding the current investigation have not been released.
