Smith ran for a 73-yard touchdown to open the scoring for the Wolverines in the first quarter. Later, Smith returned a kickoff 70 yards for a touchdown and completed a 48-yard touchdown pass.

On defense, DJ Dutrieuille picked off Gateway’s Mayson Mitchell three times on a night that saw the Wolverines defense intercept five passes.

Class 5A No. 3-ranked Woodland Hills (6-2, 4-0) pulled away in the fourth quarter for a 42-28 win after a back-and-forth battle with Gateway (2-6, 2-3).
