All week long Lafayette Christian Academy and Lafayette Renaissance Charter Academy football were exchanging chatter as the two would face off in Week 6.
All the social media posts and online trash talking went out the window when the Knights jumped out to an early lead and kept their foot on the Tigers neck the rest of the way. With their defense leading the charge, the Knights handed LRCA a 47-7 loss, its first of the season.
“I don’t care what nobody says when it comes to their opponents or whatever but LRCA is averaging 50 something a game, so to hold them to seven is phenomenal,” LCA football coach Matt Standiford said. “We were hunting. Our defensive line did a great job even though we didn’t get a ton of sacks, we were flying around the football.”
