Jason Eck is Rewriting the Culture of UNM Football

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —

Jason Eck laughs when he calls New Mexico the “Land of Entrapment.”

He said it on a blazing hot day at University Stadium, during an on-field interview I requested during peak New Mexico tanning hours (oops!). “Some people say Entrapment,” he joked. “So, we’ll see how I get trapped.”

He meant it playfully — but there’s truth behind the humor. In just a few short months, Eck has found himself fully invested in a program, a city, and a vision that’s capturing attention far beyond Albuquerque.
