With an anticipated execution cost of Rs. 211.87 crore and an operation and maintenance (O&M) cost of Rs. 16.95 crore for 15 years, the State Cabinet has accepted the tender for the implementation of six lift irrigation schemes in the Sambalpur district. 8,507 hectares of the district’s land will be irrigated by the project.
The project, which is a component of the Parbati Giri Mega raise Irrigation Scheme, intends to raise water from the Bheden River and Hirakud reservoir in order to increase the amount of irrigation potential in the Sambalpur district’s upland areas.
