CHENEY, Wash. – Eastern Washington University (EWU) celebrated a significant milestone as student-athletes, coaches and community members gathered to break ground on a new track and field facility. This project has been years in the making and marks a major advancement for the university’s athletics program.
Shari McMann, President of EWU, highlighted the importance of community involvement.
“For me, it’s about bringing community in and having people that may have not ever planned to go walk on the eastern campus, a chance to come here and think about the opportunity to go to college here,” McMann said.
Rhiannon Davies, an EWU graduate student and runner, expressed her enthusiasm for the new development.
“Excitement fills me because we use this venue as a practice facility and just the
