MECHANICVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Entering Week 6 of the high school football season, Granville/Whitehall was not your average .500 squad.
G-W went just 2-2 through its first four games, but that was a product of a grueling start to Class C play. Two of the team's first three games within the classification came against state-ranked opponents - Fonda-Fultonville, ranked fourth, and defending state champion Schuylerville, ranked ninth; the former G-W lost to only by five points on the road.
Their record aside, G-W is one of the top teams in Class C, and they proved that Friday night, traveling to Mechanicville and coming out with a 52-12 victory.
