The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) will build the first temple dedicated to Lord Venkateswara in Northeast India, with Guwahati selected as the location for the significant initiative. The Government of Assam has agreed to provide 15 acres of land in Guwahati to TTD for the construction of the temple, along with associated facilities for pilgrims.

TTD Chairman BR Naidu in a meeting with Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in Guwahati on October 9 said that an agreement will be formalised for the allocation of land for the temple.
