WAUSAU – The Wausau School District announced Oct. 8 the re-listing of the former Grant Elementary School property after a previously announced agreement fell apart.

A purchase agreement for the property, located at 500 N. Fourth Ave., was announced July 29 alongside an agreement for the former Hewitt-Texas Elementary School property at 164475 Granite Road in the town of Texas.

The former Grant Elementary property is listed on local real estate broker Tim Wimmer’s website at a price of $550,000 . The three-story, 52,496-square-foot building was built in 1910 on its surrounding 5-acre property, according to the listing. In 2021, the Common Council unanimously approved adding the school building to the city's list of local historic landmarks.
