Drivers on certain medications have been warned they could have their driving licence taken away if they fail to declare them. ‌

Opioid painkillers, specific antidepressants and tranquilisers carry potential risks when on the road. Several medications in these categories could land motorists a £1,000 fine if they don't tell the DVLA – and they could even find themselves in legal hot water if a traffic accident happens after taking them. ‌
