A man was shot by an Androscoggin County sheriff’s deputy Friday night in Turner, after allegedly pointing a gun at the officer during a pursuit, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputy Kurt Fegan had been trying to arrest Christopher Lebrun on an outstanding felony warrant when he spotted him around 10:15 p.m. on Plains Road, the sheriff’s office said in a statement .

Lebrun allegedly refused to stop, and Fegan pursued him to the intersection of North Main Street and General Turner Hill Road, where Lebrun’s vehicle crashed into a tree.

When Fegan got out of his cruiser, authorities said Lebrun exited his car, pointed a gun at the deputy, and was shot twice.

Lebrun was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland, where he was being treated for his injuries.
